The Janet
The Janet is here! Our second shirt in support of Wipe Every Tear is ready to order with 100% of sales going directly to funding our partner’s ongoing operations.
Janet, a human-trafficking survivor in the Philippines and the shirt’s namesake, found herself trapped first in a cycle of poverty that led to sex work and then an abusive relationship. She eventually encountered Wipe Every Tear who embraced her with love and offered a way out. She now works as a jewelry artisan for their TAYO livelihood program while she pursues a degree to become a doctor.
Within that story, you’ll find the inspiration for our shirt’s design. Rendered by Canadian artist Tara Ludgate, herself a passionate advocate for trafficking victims, it features willing hands finding the light and aiming it into dark places to form something new and beautiful. It’s an image that reminds us so well of Janet who longs to help others and shines wherever she goes.
You’ll find the design on two different shirt styles, one a tan unisex heathered tee, the other a smoke grey cropped jersey tee. Both support the organization that gave Janet new hope to follow her dreams. Look for them in our shop and be a part of shining light in the Philippines.
